Projects
“Breaking
Our Silences; Finding Our Voices”: exhibits of written and visual art by students
impacted by psychological disorders, to promote awareness
and understanding.
U of M Depression Conference: working in conjunction
with the planning committee to increase student involvement,
and hosting student-focused events within the conference.
Art Affects: Periodic art workshops
conducted in collaboration with Arts at Michigan, at which students can
express their experiences through the visual arts.
ResEd: in-depth education for
resident advisors regarding mental health issues in the
residence halls, as well as hall bulletin boards and info
sheets to distribute to residents.
www.findingvoice.net: continued development
and maintenance of an informational, student-friendly website
regarding mental health issues at the University of Michigan.
Student
resource packets for CAPS to distribute to students facing psychological
disorders.
Panel
discussions on student mental health and illness concerns for
undergraduate classes, ResHall Staff, and campus groups.
Hospital
Outreach to provide the U of M Inpatient Psychiatric Unit with
support baskets with useful information and encouragement
for hospitalized students.
National
Mental Health Week: a week of
activities promoting awareness and education, cosponsored
with other campus mental health groups.
Giving Voice Awards: recognition
of University faculty, staff, and administration who have
personally advocated for students.
Political
Activism regarding mental health legislation and related issues.
