After graduating from Hazel Park High School , Sidney J. Suo applied and was admitted to Wayne State University in Detroit , Michigan , graduating with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, he immediately enrolled in Wayne Law School , being awarded a degree of Juris Doctor in 1969.

Successfully completing the Michigan Bar examination, Attorney Suo was admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan in 1969. After employment as a legal examiner with a causality insurance company, he became the managing attorney in the staff counsel's office in Wayne , Oakland and Macomb Counties . During this period Attorney Suo attended to litigation files in both state and federal court, successfully trying over fifty jury trials.

In 1972 he became a partner of a firm in south Oakland County , where he handled a general practice with limited litigation involvement until 1975. He returned to the insurance company in 1976, and served as their Chief Trial Attorney in the Detroit area until 1978. His capacity in this position was to defend clients who had been sued for property damage and personal injuries arising out of automobile accidents, premises liability, and dog bite claims.

Attorney Suo then accepted an offer with a large plaintiff's personal injury firm, where he held the position of Chief Trial Attorney. Shortly thereafter, he was offered and accepted a trial attorney position with a liability defense firm and was in charge of excess of 100 employees, including seven attorneys. He directed the handling of personal injury matters, primarily involving automobile accidents, premises liability claims, and dog bite claims. Moving to the defense firm, he became involved in defending corporations involved in litigation over any number of claimed negligent acts. In addition, he became involved with matters of insurance coverage, primarily the personal lines of homeowners and automobile coverage.

In the mid 1980's, although always heavily involved in personal injury, both on the side of the injured person and representing the person or organization which was the defendant in filed litigation, his practice changed to include Family Law. For many reasons, which include having the patience and understanding to deal with the anxiety faced by clients, he has continued the practice of Family Law, and it has become a greater part of the practice. Today, and for a significant period of time, the primary practice of law involves personal injury and family law.
